Sevgin (Sev) Oktay is a registered U.S. patent agent (Reg. No: 47,832). As a patent agent, he has held various consultant and advisory positions at Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman LLP, in Stamford, Connecticut and at White & Case LLP in New York prior to expanding his own business at Oktay Enterprises International. Mr. Oktay has been involved in global intellectual property practices prosecuting United States and European patents for major companies.
The patent applications prepared and prosecuted by Mr. Oktay include consumer products, medical instruments, imaging equipment, semiconductor manufacturing, microelectronic packaging and business methods. His patent prosecution experience pertains to both U.S. and international patent applications, including the preparation of appeal briefs. In addition, Mr. Oktay has participated in opinion work and related patent searches and evaluations.
Before engaging in patent work, Mr. Oktay held various technical and managerial positions at IBM, and published extensively in scientific and professional journals and books in the areas of heat transfer, microelectronics, semiconductor manufacturing, and computer systems technology. He has more than 40 published inventions and holds 13 U.S. Patents.
